Nancy Garner, a resident at Life Care Center of Evergreen, Colorado, is proud that her watercolor painting is now being sent around the country on the front of hundreds of Christmas cards.
Each year, parent company Life Care Centers of America invites residents in more than 200 nursing and rehab facilities to submit Christmas card designs, and one piece is chosen for each of the organization’s geographical divisions. A total of eight designs are printed and distributed to facilities and regional offices throughout the company.
Garner’s painting of a two snowmen wearing scarves was chosen as the winner for Life Care’s facilities in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and Hawaii.
“It’s been so much fun to win,” said Garner. “I decided to paint snowmen because they remind me of Christmas.”
