Life Care Center of Evergreen, Colorado, held its Fourth Annual Holiday Boutique on Dec. 5.

Brenda Messner, receptionist, once again transformed the conference room into a winter wonderland so residents could enjoy a little Christmas shopping from the comfort of their own home.

Messner shops all year round to find items for the one-day sale. She also makes handcrafted jewelry and assembles themed gift baskets for purchase.

“Brenda makes sure that there is something for everyone – men and women, young and young-at-heart,” said Sandie Michals, admissions coordinator.

The most popular items include Christmas decorations, jewelry, scarves and hats, stuffed animals and toiletries.

“It’s a lot of work, but it’s well worth the effort,” Brenda said. “Some of our residents are not able to go out shopping, so this way they can do all of their Christmas shopping for their families, and everything is affordable.”
